A Look at Our Recent Work

MPUD Silt Pond Removal Project:

(Barcellos Trucking & Mountain Dirt, Inc.)

Barcellos Trucking proudly partnered with Mountain Dirt, Inc., the Prime Contractor, on the 2025 MPUD Surface Water Treatment Facility – Silt Pond Removal Project for the Mariposa Public Utility District.

Project Scope:

This essential environmental and infrastructure project involved the removal and disposal of accumulated sediment and silt from the surface water treatment facility's pond. This type of work is crucial for maintaining the facility's water treatment capacity, operational efficiency, and overall water quality for the Mariposa community.

Our role in the project:

Barcellos Trucking's contribution was the critical task of trucking and hauling the removed material. We utilized a Super-10 dump truck to transport the heavy, de-watered silt and sediment from the:

  • Loading Site (Source): Mariposa County Surface Water Treatment Facility, 4888 Trabucco Street, Mariposa, CA 95338.

  • Unloading Site (Disposal): Mariposa County Landfill, 5593 CA 49, Mariposa, CA 95338, which is the approved Mariposa County Landfill, Composting, and Recycling Center.

Our team ensured the safe, timely, and efficient transport of the material, upholding the project's schedule and environmental compliance requirements. Truck clean-up was completed diligently after the hauling work to maintain a clean and professional operation.

Chukchansi Onsite Arena Dirt Removal:

(Barcellos Trucking & Tom Bohna Ranch)

Big shoutout to the logistics partners who made the Chukchansi rodeo happen! After the last bull bucked at the Rough Stock, Buck & Bash, Tom Bohna Ranch handled the heavy lifting to tear down the arena. They brought in Barcellos Trucking to help haul all that custom arena dirt—which measured up to 50 truckloads—from the parking lot to an onsite storage area. Teamwork makes the dream work when it comes to event breakdown!

🚧 Mineral King Road Rehabilitation: Hauling and Safety Project:

(Barcellos Trucking & Steve Manning Construction, Inc. )

Steve Manning Construction, Inc. is leading a major roadway rehabilitation contract for the Mineral King Road in Sequoia National Park, a critical infrastructure project to restore and repave 15.29 miles of the narrow, winding mountain road. The scope of work involves pulverization of existing pavement, aggregate base placement, asphalt paving, and stabilizing slopes and edges, including replacing or enlarging over 200 culverts.

🚚 Dump Truck Operations

This extensive project necessitates the use of a substantial fleet of dump trucks for hauling vast quantities of material, including aggregate base and asphalt concrete for paving. Through broker Cerutti & Sons Transportation out of Fresno, CA, Barcellos Trucking has been dispatched to provide instrumental subhaul services, ensuring the continuous transport of necessary construction materials to the challenging work sites along the route.

⛰️ Safety and Communication in Mountainous Terrain

The logistics of this work are uniquely demanding due to the road's location in rough, mountainous terrain and its narrow, curvy nature. Safety and precise communication are paramount for all personnel, especially those operating the heavy haul equipment. Key challenges for dump truck operators include navigating blind corners, managing on-coming tourist traffic due to the road's public access, and the absolute necessity for very slow speeds to maintain control and safety. Full road closures and traffic delays are often required to safely conduct work on this challenging corridor.
